Decorating on a budget

I cannot say I came up with this idea on my own as usual it was 100% an idea I got from Pinterest. I saw this on there and I just had to do it when I was trying to come up wit ideas on how to decorate my daughters new room.

I went to my local Big Lots store for the canvas and then with my trustee JoAnn Fabrics coupon I bought the pink fabric. Now I am slightly obsessive when it came to the buttons and I wanted them to all be the same color so while I was shopping at Wal-mart I found that they had packets of buttons that were all the same color but different sizes.

This whole project cost about $10 and it is so worth it to me!

Here is a toy box that I refinished a few years ago and where I ended up pulling all the colors for her bedroom. I found the toy box at a local thrift store. I stripped it down and painted it with her initial on it and a cute saying. This whole project including the cost of the toy box was about $20

In this photo I am showing the bedskirt that I mad for her bed, which is another idea from Pinterest. Here is the step-by-step link on how to make it. After making it though I must warn you. It is very time consuming! BUt totally worth it and fun!

It's hard to see but I also sewed the curtains for her room. Now mind you I am not one who sews too often nor am I very good at it but these were SUPER easy and cost effective! And obviously you can see her bed before I made the bed skirt. What a huge difference!
